Fix Your Eyes on Jesus, Not Fear

Scripture
"But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’" – Matthew 14:27
Fear is real. It shows up in our lives in unexpected moments when we face new challenges, when the future feels uncertain, or when the weight of responsibility feels overwhelming. But fear doesn’t have the final say. God calls us to rise above fear by fixing our eyes on Him.
In Matthew 14, Peter did something incredible. He stepped out of the boat and walked on water toward Jesus. For a moment, faith carried him. But when his focus shifted to the wind and the waves, fear took over, and he began to sink.
We are no different. When our eyes are on the storm, fear drowns out our confidence. But when our eyes are on Jesus, faith lifts us to walk where we never thought possible.
Choosing faith over fear doesn’t mean fear disappears, it means fear no longer controls us.
Faith reminds us that:
-
God is bigger than the storm.
-
His presence is constant, even when life feels unstable.
-
His power works best when we trust Him fully.
So today, when fear creeps in, remember Jesus’ words: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
