God’s Plans > My Plans
If there’s one thing God keeps teaching me, it’s that His plans are always better than mine, even when I don’t understand them. There have been seasons where I thought I had everything figured out, only to watch those plans fall apart. At first, I questioned it: “Why, Lord? I thought this was right.” But now, I can look back and see how His hand was guiding me all along, redirecting me toward something better, something I couldn’t see at the time.
I’ve realized that surrendering to God’s plan doesn’t mean giving up on my dreams; it means trusting Him with the outcome. When I start to feel frustrated or uncertain, I pause and pray, “Lord, I may not understand what You’re doing right now, but I trust that Your plan is greater than mine. Help me to see through faith, not fear. Give me peace to wait and wisdom to follow where You lead.”
And He always does. Somehow, that simple prayer helps me breathe again. Because deep down, I know He’s never failed me. Every detour, every delay, every disappointment, none of it has been wasted. He’s used it all to grow me, strengthen me, and prepare me for what’s next.
Proverbs 19:21 says it perfectly: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” I love that verse because it reminds me that even when my plans crumble, God’s purpose still stands. My “no” today might just be making room for His “yes” tomorrow.
So now, instead of asking God to bless my plans, I ask Him to align my heart with His. When things don’t go my way, I remind myself that His way is better even when it feels hard. I pray, “Father, help me to release control and rest in Your timing. When I can’t see what’s ahead, remind me that You’re already there. Thank You for writing a story that’s greater than my own.”
His plans will always be greater, His purpose stronger, and His timing more perfect than anything I could ever imagine. So I’ll keep walking by faith, trusting that what He’s building is worth the wait.
