The Gift We Can’t Earn: Rediscovering the Heart of Christmas
Christmas often becomes a whirlwind, shopping lists, busyness, gatherings, and the pressure to create the perfect holiday atmosphere. But at its core, Christmas is not about what we give, what we buy, or how beautifully we decorate.
Christmas is about a Gift we could never earn.
Over 2,000 years ago, God stepped into humanity through the birth of Jesus, a Savior given not because humanity deserved it, but because God loved us too much to leave us hopeless.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…” — Isaiah 9:6
That word given reminds us that salvation is not a wage or a reward. It is grace; Pure and powerful.
This season, instead of striving to “make Christmas perfect,” let’s rest in the perfection of Christ’s love. Let’s remember that the greatest gift was not wrapped in shiny paper but in swaddling cloth. Not placed under a tree, but in a manger.
May this Christmas draw your heart back to the wonder of God’s generosity.
May His peace be your anchor, and His joy your strength.
