Walking in Love When It’s Not Easy
I’ve been reflecting on what true spiritual growth actually looks like. Not the kind that feels impressive, but the kind that quietly reshapes your heart. For me, it keeps coming back to love.
Love is the first fruit of the Spirit, and I don’t think that’s accidental. Love is the foundation. It’s how God meets us, how He transforms us, and how He calls us to live.
Loving others is easy when things feel good. But loving when it’s uncomfortable, when emotions are messy, or when grace feels undeserved is where growth happens. I’m learning that love is not just a feeling. It’s a daily choice to reflect Christ even when it costs something.
Scripture reminds us that love isn’t something we force. It’s something God produces in us as we stay connected to Him. “The fruit of the Spirit is love…”-Galatians 5:22. Fruit grows slowly, quietly, and intentionally. That encourages me, because it means I don’t have to be perfect. I just have to stay rooted.
My prayer lately has been simple. Lord, teach me to love the way You love. Help me respond with grace instead of reaction. Help me choose patience over pride and compassion over comfort. Shape my heart so love flows from Your Spirit, not my emotions.
This year, my goal isn’t just to know the Fruit of the Spirit. It’s to live it. To let love be visible in my words, my responses, and my everyday life. Even when it’s not easy.
As we continue growing in the Fruit of the Spirit this year, I invite you to carry these truths with you beyond the blog. At Bethesda Clothing, our designs are created to reflect faith lived out daily and to serve as quiet reminders of who we are becoming in Christ.
